TGIF – we survived the heat wave and lived to tell about it! We’re starting a new Friday Favorites series on the blog so that you can get to know the FD Design team better and so we can get to know you, the reader, better!
In honor of summer coming to a close, and our team’s upcoming vacations, we thought we’d kick off this new series with our Favorite Vacation Destinations.
Jaime – Dewey Beach, DE
We stayed in an area called Silver Lake. It is a quite residential area just outside of Rehboth beach and where we took our kids each year growing up. We love it because it’s close to great things, but a quiet family focused neighborhood with easy beach access. As the kids have grown we have ventured out onto new territory the past few years, visiting national parks, touring CA and beyond, but still find ourselves venturing back there for the familiarity and comfort of it when we are need of a close comfortable space to reconnect.
Laura – Montreat, NC
I’m a North Carolina native, and the area around Montreat is where my grandmother grew up and where my grandparents still lived when I was a child. I grew up going on family vacations here every summer. I love the idyllic setting, the happy memories I have here, and all the opportunities to go hiking, play in the creek, and explore nature.
Rachel – Fenwick Island, DE
I grew up going to Fenwick Island as a kid. It’s called “the quiet resort” and it lives up to the name. It’s a small, charming beach town and removed from all the chaos of busier beaches & boardwalks. It’s very walkable with many small businesses that I love to support.
Cassidy – Avalon, NJ
I grew up going to Avalon with my family every year so when it came time to choose a destination for my own family’s vacation Avalon was the natural choice. We love the beautiful beach, the quaint shops down the street in Stone Harbor, and the many great dining options – Avalon Freeze, Uncle Bill’s Pancake House, & the The Sandbar Village are some of our favorite spots.
We want to hear from you! Tell us about your favorite vacation destination in the comments.
